डा जगदम्बा प्रसाद कोटनाला (कुट्ज भारती ) का अभिनन्दन आवश्यक है

डा जगदम्बा प्रसाद कोटनाला गढ़वाली में कविता ही नही लिखते अपितु एल विद्व समीक्षक भी हैं।  उन्होंने गहन यात्राओं द्वारा गढ़वाली कवियों के बारे  की और गढ़वाली कविता विकास पर DPhil   डिग्री हासिल की और 2011 में 'गढ़वाली काव्य का उद्भव , विकास एवं वैशिष्ठ्य' पुस्तक प्रकाशित की। 
470  पृष्ठ की पुस्तक में गढ़वाली भाषा का वैशिष्ठ्य -चरित्र, काव्य इतिहास व प्रत्येक युग के कवियों के काव्य शिल्प, रस विधान, प्रतीक व बिम्ब विधान का सांगोपांग विवरण मिलता है।  
विद्वान अन्वेषक ने गढ़वाली काव्य पर हिंदी काव्य का प्रभाव पर एक अध्याय लिखा है जो अपने आप में विशिष्ठ है। 
हाँ कुछ विशिष्ठ कवि जैसे मदन डुकलाण  आदि के बारे में क्यों नही लिखा गया यह एक प्रश्न अवश्य है और मुझे भी प्रश्न करने का साहस नही हो सका है । 
सभी गढ़वाली कवियों को यह ग्रन्थ अपने पुस्तकालय में रखना ही चाहिए।

                    There had been literature critic writing about critical history of modern Garhwali poetry. ‘Garhwali Kavitavali’ (1932) edited by Tara Datt Gairola and published by Vishwamabar Datt Chandola is first book which supplies the details ofGarhwali poets and their poetic caliber of Garhwali poetry world.  ‘Shailvani’ (1981) edited by Abodh Bandhu Bahuguna is another attempt to provide historical and critical aspects of development of modern Garhwali poetry. Abodh Bandhu Bahuguna wrote brief history about Garhwali literature in ‘Mukandi lal barrister Smriti ‘, Dr.Nand Kishor Dhoundiyal briefed about Garhwali literature history in an article in ‘Garhwal ki Jeevit Vibhutiyan and uska Vaishishthy’ (1990). Bhishma Kukreti detailed about social structure of Garhwal and in its role development of characteristics of Garhwalipoetry ‘Garhwali Kavita ka Itihas ‘in ‘Sankalp’( edited by Dr,B.L.Jalandhari 2011). In following publication,  a milestone book ‘Angwal’ under edited by Madan Duklan and published by Samay Sakshy, Dehradun, Bhishma Kukreti details about social and political history of Garhwal affecting the characteristics of Garhwali poetry from 1850. Bhishma Kukreti wrote criticism of more than 300 Garhwali language poets in the Angwal (under print).              Dr. Jagdamba Prasad Kotnala (Kutj Bharati) published a well researched book’ Garhwal Kavya ka Udbhav, Vikash evam Vaishishthya’ (2011, pages-470).  The book is a milestone in the history of Garhwali literature.
  The book has fallowing chapters:
1-Garhwali Bhasha ka Tatvik Parichay (page1-56): In this chapter the poetry historian deals with the Garhwali language and its characteristics, position of Garhwali among other Aryan languages, dialects of Garhwali language, relationship ofGarhwali with Hindi language, grammar of Garhwali language, the exclusivity of Garhwali language, general introduction of modern Garhwali literature.
2-Gadhwali Kavya:Udhbhav evam vikash (page 57-104): in this chapter , the poetry historian divides the Garhwali poetry as per age and briefs about characteristics of era wise Garhwali poetry. The researcher Kotnala also divides the poetry as per structure and provides detailing of Garhwali poetry books published so far.
3-Garhwali Kavya ki samvedana ka Vaishishthya (page105-270) : In this chapter, the critical history writer of Garhwalipoetry Kotnala describes about various emotions and raptures found in Garhwali poetry.
4-Garhwali Kavya ka Shilp Vaishishthya (page 271-406) in this chapter brilliantly, Jagdamba Prasad Kotnala discusses about forms and structure of Garhwali poetry world from beginning till date.
5- Gahwali Kavya par Hindi Kavya ka Prabhav: in this important chapter, the historian finds the reasons and effects of Hindi poetry on Garhwali poetry from various angles of poetic aspects.
6- In the last chapter, the critical poetry historian concludes his research on Garhwali poetry.
                 The book reveals many aspects of Garhwali poetry and is very important for readers to know about history ofGarhwali poetry and characteristics of Garhwali poetry. The critic and researcher Dr.Jagdamba Prasad Kotnala effective describes about sound, intension, structure, types, emotions, experiencing aspects and other important and critical literary aspects of Garhwali poetry.
                The Hindi Book ‘Garhwal Kavya ka Udbhav, Vikash evam Vaishishthya’ examines all major aspects of Garhwalipoetry. The language of Dr.Jagdamba Prasad Kotnala is simple for understanding the insight of Garhwali poetry and its history.
