Critical Review for Garhwali Short Stories written by Mahesha Nand-4
There are folk stories those are floating in different localities.  Present story ‘Kutnnyu Chhwara’ by Mahesha Nand looks as folk tale. Mahesha Nand narrated the folk story theme in very modern style.
Kutin means the woman that beats and thrashes full grains and makes grains for cooking. The story is about a Kutin trapping a fox due to specific reason. The fox obeys her and helps her for her getting fertile field from rich farmer and big house from village chief. Lastly, fox helps her for marrying her son with rich man’s daughter with grace but through fox tricks. Story keeps readers interested in executing actions for strategies by the fox.
The story is simple and Mahesha Nand narrated the story in his own style. His narration is interesting and reader reads till the end in one sitting. As is his style, Mahesha Nand uses Theth Garhwali words for narrating the story.  Mahesha prefers naming the characters as per their profession.
Overall, the story is interesting.
