 Balwant Singh Rawat is one of the prominent figures of Garhwali literature in poetry and dramas.

 Balwant Rawat has been publishing his poetries, lyrics and Ghazals in magazines and periodicals. Nazibabad radio station relayed his poems regularly.

   Rawat is famous for illustrating Garhwal life.

 Balwant published a Garhwali poetry collection Garh-Gitika.

बलवंत सिंह रावत कि गजल

जिकुडि कि खैरि कैमा लगाण

तिसलु रै ग्याई तिसलु पराण I

क्वी नीच कैकु दुन्या मा दगड्या

कैकु कजै ना कैकी कज्याण I
