It was decided that Bamshah with his army would reach Doti by crossing Kali River at Jhulaghat within ten days. On 3oth April 1815, Bamshah started his journey from Almora for Doti. Mostly regular Nepalese soldiers were with Bamshah. Around 300 Kumaoni soldiers of Nepalese court entered into British army.
The road from Almora to Doti was via Jageshwar, Gngolighat, Pithoragarh and Jhulaghat. Nepalese soldiers with Bamshah were supposed to cross Kali River at Jhulaghat by 11th May 1815. However, Bamshah did not go ahead from Pithoragarh. It was decided that Lieutenant Colonel will go with Bamshah up to Jhulaghat. On 11th May, Bamshah reached to Gardner that he did not receive the reply from Nepal court in response to his letter to Nepal Court. Bamshah shooed his worries about reply from Nepal court.
