Kingwad ki Davai Kan Baun: Asian, Garhwali Folk Story for Research and Development Managers

                  Kingora (Barbaris lycium) is an economical shrub of Uttarakhand. Kingora (Barbaris lycium) holds spikes and is used as fencing plant, wood plant.  Kingora (Barbaris lycium) is one of the important medicinal plants of Himalaya for centuries.
           The roots and bark extract is used for eye diseases as conjunctivitis. Uttarakhandi did not t cut Kingora (Barbaris lycium) unless there is specific needs.
             Thousands of years back, nobody knew the uses of Kingora (Barbaris lycium) for eradicating eye diseases.
           Once upon a time before thousands years back there was epidemic of conjunctivitis in Garhwal. All family members of great Vaidraj were affected by conjunctivitis. Great Vaidraj of Garhwal used all plant medicines he knew. He tried all religious rituals for recovery of eye diseases. Vaidraj Ji was in hopeless conditions. Vaidraj Ji tried other unknown plants as medicine for conjunctivitis. In dream Vaidraj Ji saw Dhanvantari. Dhanvantari asked Vaidraj Ji to try Kingora (Barbaris lycium) root extract.
            In morning Vaidraj Ji cut the root of Kingora (Barbaris lycium). Vaidraj Ji boiled root of Kingora (Barbaris lycium). Cooled the water and strained. First, Vaidraj Ji tried the cold extract on his one eye for whole day. There was no harm on his eye.
               Now he tried Kingora (Barbaris lycium) root extract on his family members affected by conjunctivitis. Within a couple of days all family members got free of conjunctivitis. Then Vaidraj Ji used Kingora (Barbaris lycium) root extract on other ill people. Every patient got free of conjunctivitis.
