               Editor of Hilans Arjun Singh Gusain discussed the importance of local language institutions for Kumauni and Garhwali languages in his editorial write up ‘Uttarakhand me Bhasha Santhan’ of ‘Hilans (October 1985) issue. Arjun Singh Gusain the editor of ‘Hilans’ states that local language development institution would become platform for bringing out the language and literature talents. The local language institution of Uttarakhand would be helpful in publish out the unpublished works scattered in rural Uttarakhand.

Two satirical Garhwali poems Balendu Badola stir the readers. One poem is as:

लवलीन

कवि: बालेन्दु बडोला

बुबा निकज्जू पहाड़ पर

भगती मा लवलीन,

अर छोरा देहरादून मां,

कै छोरी का लव-लीन

गहर- गिरस्ती , संस्कृति समाज -

देस, फर्ज भूल गीन

इन म्वार यूँ 'लवलीन' कु

कि कख जाणा अब मीन
