Community/journalism regional journalism in Uttarakhand in Context of ‘Hilans’


(Review of ‘Hilans’ a community Magazine for its contribution on Kumauni-Garhwali Literature Promotion)

Community journalism is a specific journalism that focuses on a particular community. The community journalism pays less importance to national or regional news and acts. However, whenever the national news affect the community the community journalism talk about national issues in relation with community. Community journalism has many classes depending upon community.
  As far as the editor of Hilans Arjun Singh Gusain is concerned as Community magazine editor and publishers, he always walked on the line and principles of community journalism.
 As a master of community journalism, Arjun Singh Gusain provided Hilans as medium of contact information of experts, advisors, leaders, social workers, literature creative of Uttarakhand among themselves those were scattered d all over world.
Arjun Singh Gusain as community journalist saw that Uttarakhandi leaders, experts and creative provide important information to the readers and Gusain motivated experts to write for Hilans.
Hilans as vital part of Uttarakhandi community journalism used to provide information on community organizations, community services and community institutions of Uttarakhand.
Hilans used to provide necessary literature required for the community.
As dedicated Community journalist, Arjun Singh Gusain always initiated promoting Kumauni-Garhwali language, literature and culture.

Bhalu yu Uttarakhand a imagery Garhwali poem by Bhagwan Singh rawat ‘akela’ – Bhagwan Singh Rawat ‘Akela’ is famous for his imagery poems about geographical nature of Hills of Uttarakhand and Rawat did offered his brilliancy in imagery poem.

 November issue of Uttarakhandi community magazine was dedicated to great Editor Vishwambar Datt Chandola and his contribution to community journalism and initiation of publishing Garhwali literature. Various authors provided the Garhwali literature creative and their poems published in Garhwali a community newspaper edited and published by Vishwambar Datt Chandola.
